Overview
Aventus Classic is an open-source, decentralised protocol that revolutionises the way digital assets are issued, owned, and transferred across supply chains.
Usage
Aventus Classic allows a user to issue publicly-verifiable blockchain tickets on Ethereum. Anyone is free to utilise the Protocol and build any application on top of it to facilitate ticket management.
Typical Event Lifecycle
To give an idea of how the Protocol could be used to run an event, see the lifecycle journey below:
- eventOwner creates an event on the Protocol
- ticketOwner creates a private & public key-pair
- eventOwner sells tickets referencing ticketOwner's public key
- As the eventTime approaches the eventOwner compiles a list of ticketOwner public keys associated with the event from the public blockchain
- ticketOwners arrive at the event and prove ownership of their public key to the eventOwner to gain access
This flow would involve a wallet-like application for the ticketOwner to prove their key-pair and an eventOwner access control application to hold a doorlist of valid public keys and present an ownership challenge to the ticketOwners
Note: for more info on what is meant by some of these terms (eventOwner, ticketOwner, eventTime), see the glossary
AVT Mechanics
Certain interactions with the Aventus Protocol require a deposit using the Protocol's token AVT in order to penalise improper behaviour within the network.
As the Protocol is currently deployed to Rinkeby we've introduced an AVT Faucet (similar to Ethereum's faucet) to release testnet AVTs for use with the Protocol.
This can be accessed via the AVT Faucet contract deployed on Rinkeby, see the Tools section for information on how to use the faucet.
Event Deposit
Every new event requires a deposit of 2000 AVT (1000 AVT if the event is free), which is returned to the owner once the eventTime
has passed. If an event is voted to be fraudulent by the community, the event deposit will be shared amongst the voting community.
Member Deposit
Members who sell or resell tickets must first put up a deposit of 5000 AVT. If a member is voted to be fraudulent by the community, their member deposit will be shared amongst the voting community.
